Our Success Stories

“We were actually pleasantly surprised at the speed with which the BRIC took up our request to borrow IT equipment. Within a few days, all the computers and accompanying accessories we requested were here and our remote workers were able to pick up their PC. A PC that was up and running and ready to use straight away. That was very important to us – the sudden switch to remote working never threatened the continuity of our service to the population. We are very pleased to be able to count on the BRIC in this way and are looking forward to the next collaboration.”

We are really delighted with what we have accomplished together with the BRIC: the virtual environment from Viapass is more stable and secure than ever! The BRIC is always successful in correctly interpreting our needs and putting them into practice.

The benefit of the Brussels Public Centre for Social Welfare (PCSW) in putting its trust in the BRIC lies in the latter's knowledge of the Brussels IT landscape and its development, as well as its vast IT knowledge. The BRIC team demonstrated an ability to adapt to the many different jobs, the size and the operation of the PCSW and, with no previous knowledge, sought to put in place solutions that were both original and relevant. The PCSW now knows what it has to do, when and at what cost. The result of the master plan [drafted by the BRIC] is ambitious and realistic. Our trust was well placed. Initial progress was made even before the end of the study and the PCSW has now taken on board the results of the study. Let's get to work!

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the BRIC for the gift of the Braillebox 5 printer which was installed in the MFC Koninklijk Instituut Woluwe special needs centre on 13 November. The pupils of the KIW (with a visual impairment) as well as the pupils who are assisted by the Type 6 support team in various schools in Flanders and Brussels and those at the Ganspoel Huldenberg institute for the visually impaired would like to thank you very much for your contribution to the success of their studies!

The Brussels DPSs and the BRIC are the right hand of our public services in the fight against the digital divide, especially in the communes. We ourselves, in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, are working closely with the BRIC to digitalise the services provided by the commune – it’s a huge task.
Thanks to the new IT infrastructure, many of the commune’s departments have now succeeded in using the digital resources developed mainly by the BRIC efficiently. I’m thinking here, for example, of IRISbox for municipal administration or Nova for urban planning and environmental permits. Registering your children in a crèche or a school – also via IRISbox – or registering them for school meals can also be done simply via the Internet now.
Problems linked to work or the cleanliness of the public space can be reported via Fix My Street, as well. But that’s not all. We have to make sure that no-one is left behind and prevent the digital divide from widening. The DPSs play a vital role here!

KANAL is a crazily daring project. Managing to transform the old Citroen garage into an exhibition centre, living space and public area in such a short space of time was a gamble. A wager won since 5 May! This success has been possible thanks to the professionalism of many public and private partners. In early 2018, the BRIC and IRISnet embarked upon the adventure enthusiastically, joining forces with KANAL to the full. The IT, telephony and video-protection facilities had to be set up in extremely short periods of time. With dynamism, professionalism and responsiveness, the BRIC and IRISnet staff did an amazing job which the Fondation Kanal is delighted with. Advising on the best solutions, implementing them, dealing with the many emergencies that arose - these are the services provided on a daily basis by the BRIC teams. An exemplary partnership!

The IT teams are shared between the commune and the Anderlecht CPAS (public social assistance centre) in a wider context that aims to pool support services as much as possible (this is already the case for the management of human resources and IT) in order to release more time and resources so that the CPAS can focus on its basic mission: helping people!

We are very satisfied with these hotspots and our cooperation with the BRIC, which could not be better. The total availability of their team and their advice are invaluable to us! We are eager to adopt technologies that are increasingly useful for the general public with the support of the BRIC!

The local residents tickets via IRISbox and the creation of parking perimeters are innovations that respond perfectly to the needs of the commune and the public. We are delighted that the BRIC is helping us to deploy an easy, lasting parking system for the Brussels-Capital Region as a whole!

We must admit that when our server failed, we panicked a bit. Luckily we were able to rely on the expertise of the BRIC: we were up and running again in no time at all!

Easy, fast, traceable registration requests and secure operation: with IRISbox, everything is clear and simple for everyone!

There’s no substitute for a good master plan, and the BRIC was there at the right time to offer us its expertise for consistent long-term IT management.

BPS and the BRIC joined forces from the outset in a strategic partnership to offer a wide range of solutions and applications such as the deployment of a videoprotection pooling and sharing solution, the digitalisation of processing procedures between local authorities and the police services and many other projects currently being developed. The aims are to facilitate the action taken by the security services in order to guarantee the safety of all citizens while respecting rights and freedoms, increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the various services and improve public access and information.
Over the next few years, this strategic partnership is sure to be strengthened in fields as varied as increasing awareness of IT security, data preservation and public networks and infrastructures.

The IT department in the commune of Forest decided to work more closely with the BRIC a number of years ago. IT now enables us to improve the quality of our internal services, which ultimately has a positive impact for the general public!

BOS facilitates reporting and the implementation of the services' workflow. Things now move more quickly and there is also an ecological gain when communicating the agendas of the Police College and Board, as well as sending decisions to the trusteeship. This tool also allows easy storage of the archives and efficient file searches. Finally, it is not complicated to use because it is very intuitive!
Technical support is efficient, and our requests are processed quickly. The service benefits from significant improvements, thanks in particular to the feedback from users themselves through the Users Clubs!
The platform really does meet the expectations of the police zone.

Thanks to the eCatalogue, we enjoy a fast, simple and secure shopping experience. There is a wide range of equipment, and the brands offered allow us to meet all our needs. Deliveries are guaranteed and delivery times are short.
The great advantage of this solution is that it also makes it possible to avoid writing complex specifications. Prices were negotiated upstream on the basis of larger purchasing volumes than ours. We are therefore making substantial savings thanks to the public contracts awarded by the BRIC and benefit from excellent conditions, since purchases are billed at cost!

Over the years, staff at the BRIC have developed cutting-edge expertise coupled with extensive knowledge of the terrain, which proves to be very useful: Brussels institutions thus benefit from the significant added value of an IT service "operating" in a regional environment!
The BRIC and the SLRB/BGHM have been working together closely for several years. Currently, the SLRB/BGHM is benefiting from the recognised expertise of the BRIC to achieve its ambitious objectives in terms of computerisation and a "paperless" environment.
